Replacement of Bridge Bearingss

A Mechanical device which is provided in between the substructure and the superstructure to control the interaction/movement of these two is called Bearing.

The function of a Bearing is to safely transmit the loads and forces acting on to or from the superstructure to the substructure underneath while providing free translation and rotation of the structure which is supported by the Bearing.

REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING BRIDGE BEARINGS REQUIRES:-

• Lifting of Bridge superstructure at the pier location.
• Dismantling and Removal of the existing Bearing.
• Breaking of cover concrete on the pier at particular Bearing locations to expose the reinforcement.
• Placing an additional reinforcement for pedestal & concreting to bear the load of new Bearing.
